the history of our shop.

the history of our shop.

Have you ever wondered about the history behind the walls of our historic shop? Step back in time with us as we delve into the fascinating past of this building, which dates back to the 1830's.

Our shop was originally the home of the Racket Store, a general store that served the community for many years. From household goods to hardware, the Racket Store was a one-stop shop for all the needs of the local residents.

The Racket Store thrived in this location until it closed its doors in 2002. For over a century, this building was a hub of activity and commerce, providing essential goods to the people of the area.

After the closure of the Racket Store this location was home to The Log House Coffee House, The Boar's End, & offices for a local financial agency. From around 2012 - 2023 the property was empty until we began our renovations in June of 2023.

As the current owners of the building, we are dedicated to preserving its rich history. We have conducted extensive research into the origins of the Racket Store and have worked to maintain the original charm of the shop.

By understanding the history of our shop, we gain a deeper appreciation for the community that has thrived here for generations. It allows us to connect with the past and honor the legacy of those who came before us.

We are thrilled to be part of this property's history and hope you will join us in creating memories and stories of our shop that will be shared for many years to come!

When visiting take some time to check out our shadow box and scrapbook located in the seating area of the shop to learn more.
